This is my third week in melb! Five minutes before the crazy hail (which usu only happens in winter) that day, the sun was so freaking hot.Weather in melb is crazy. Jus like they say, in melb, you experience the four seasons all in one day.
Honestly, I didnt really like melb when I first got here. Because everyone around is Australian and speaks Australian and even if you see an Asian, they speak with an attempted Australian accent. And as if it isnt bad enough, they dont understand me if I dont try to imitate their accent. They either look at you with the "im trying really hard to understand" face or ask you to repeat a million times.
Transport and service is just as crazy. I was at the train station this morning at 7.45am and the train which was due at 7:24am just arrived.
Everyday i go to school, student services gives me a surprise too. One day they tell me they haven received my fees and cant enrol me. Another day, I cant access my module homework and slides. The next day they tell me I have to pay a $10 000 more for my sch fees and they have no idea why. And they dont care even if your problem is so urgent you will kill yourself if its not done by today. They either refer you to another dept or tell you to come back tommorow cause they only work from 10am-4pm and dont work during lunch.
But still, I like having a campus! I'm so going to buy my school's jumper next week! Ready for winter!
And being oz, lectures always end early and there are parties and free food (lolx) in my school every other day. Its not like im really into free food (really!) But things are really expensive here. A bowl of porridge costs $7 and this is the cheapest I've found already. Ginger is like some rare good here too. I bought one at the Asian market (which is suppose to be cheap too) and it costs $5 plus. Mind you, its not one kg its one piece. And guess how much is KFC 2-piece here? $10! Hahah and it didnt cure my home sickness.
what we could have been, 5:43 AM.
